Four Looks to Rock in 2020

2020 is going to be a big year for many different reasons. Of course, one of the preeminent reasons is because 2020 is the first year of a new style decade. Fashionistas across the spectrum have been giving their predictions about what a woman can expect in the new year. Those interested in keeping their finger on the pulse of what’s new and cool may find themselves surprised by what the new year promises.

Here at Smyth Jewelers, we’re thrilled to bring four of the biggest upcoming trends to our customers; we hope that you’ll get some fabulous new ideas about what to wear!

Spherical Themes

Beads and balls will be big in the world of baubles. Here at the end of 2019, we’ve seen plenty of fashion-forward designers utilizing spheres of various sizes in their jewelry. Of course, this doesn’t mean you’re stuck wearing gigantic glass balls from your ears! One of our favorite types of “sphere” in the world of jewelry is pearls. Pearl necklaces, pearl bracelets, and pearl earrings can all come together to make a really elegant round parure for women next year. Check out Mikimoto and Honora for some of the finest collections we offer at Smyth Jewelers.

Nature-Inspiration

This may not be a surprise if you take into consideration the dominance of spheres. Round curves are very naturalistic, and that’s a very specific part of a larger trend that women and designers have been favoring recently. One of the most elegant ways of exploring nature inspiration in jewelry is through engagement rings. Fortunately, one of our favorite designers makes it easier for you: The Simon G. Garden collection of engagement rings provides a great example of naturalistic themes. Rose gold flowers and asymmetric leaves on stems come together to make delightful pieces for any fashion-forward woman.

Yellow Gold

One of our favorite surprises for 2020 is the return of yellow gold. While yellow gold has never fallen out of fashion, it’s been waiting in the wings for recent decades while white gold took center stage for diamond jewelry. Color and flair have been dominating the style sphere lately, and many of the big names in fashion have been suggesting that in the early 2020s, yellow gold is going to be a big thing for jewelry. If you’re looking for some fantastic style to go into spring, try a gold fashion ring with a gorgeous colored gem paired with it!

Chokers

Stackables will continue to be a big fashion trend in 2020, continuing from the 2010s. We’ve heard predictions that the stackable aesthetic will even expand, going into the realm of necklaces. It’s a bit difficult to stack longer necklaces, but there’s a certain cool in stacking complementary choker-style necklaces against the neck. When you’re searching for necklaces, you can defer to the other style trends we’ve put on this list: Natural styles, round beads, and color can all be paired to make a delightful look!
