Kiersten & Evan #SmythCouple
In 2015, an undergraduate student at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and a Graduate Assistant for the men’s basketball team went into a college bar with plans for a relaxing night out. Kiersten and Evan were working hard to build their own individual futures, but that evening ignited an unexpected and special partnership. “We are best friends,” said Evan. He began a career not long after they met that would ultimately require frequent moves and slow-moving financial benefits. “She was always willing to make sacrifices for us to be together, which meant so much to me.” Kiersten and Evan became teammates in a short period of time and he knew that this was it for him. “When my life decisions became more about “us” than me”, I knew I had found the one and wanted to marry her.”
On a crisp winter day at sunset, Evan got down on one knee to ask the most important question of his life to date. “Is this really happening,” Kiersten thought. The beginning of the rest of their lives took place in the capital of Maryland, Historic Downtown Annapolis. The Chesapeake Bay has seen many sights throughout the years and on that day it looked on in peaceful wonder as two people agreed to walk this journey of life hand in hand. “It was the easiest decision I have ever made, and a day I will remember forever,” Kiersten said. The 1.17 carat total weight round brilliant cut engagement ring with micro pave diamonds cascading down the sides glittered in the remaining rays of sun as they celebrated with champagne on the harbor.
Kiersten and Evan are saying their “I do’s” September 19, 2019 at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel within eyeshot of the proposal. The Chesapeake Bay is an estuary that has over 150 streams and rivers flowing into it and is about 10,000 years old. The unwavering unity and dependable tide of the Bay parallels the friendship and alliance between this beautiful couple. “She is better than anything I could have ever imagined in a future wife,” said Evan. Kiersten echoed the sentiment when asked about her own feelings of their future, “I am excited to look for our first house together. I am excited start a family in the future. And I am excited to grow together as a couple and to enjoy every minute of it.”
