John Hardy: The Bali-Based Eco-Conscious Jewelry Brand

When we first introduce new customers to our wares, there is one brand that always seems to stand out: John Hardy. Their unmistakable style enchants and casts a spell - we see people gravitate to that section of our showcase time and time again.

Combining unique botanicals and other indigenous elements with the highest-quality raw materials money can buy, John Hardy wows us with their vision time and time again. Their ethical approach to world fashion seals the deal and the stronghold they have on our hearts.

The John Hardy Story

John Hardy, Canadian entrepreneur and world-class designer in his own right, fell in love with Bali when he visited for the first time in the seventies. He was a staunch observer of the native peoples’ dedication to the craft of jewelry-making. Inspired by what surrounded him, he founded his own company there in Mumbai in 1996. Since then, they have expanded their operations and become one of the highest authorities when it comes to sustainable luxury jewelry.

Despite the exponential growth they have been able to achieve, John Hardy stays true to their roots in Bali and the culture that helped make them what they are today.

All labor is locally sourced and compensated fairly - their supply chain is carbon-neutral and socially responsible and accountable to those that it benefits from. Their devotion to the environment is also worthy of note. Not only is everything their wares are made of ethically-sourced and environmentally sustainable - they also have instituted several company-exclusive campaigns that benefit their home in the tropics. One notable example is their “Wear Bamboo, Plant Bamboo” program, a pledge to plant bamboo in Bali and the surrounding area every time a piece from their Bamboo collection is sold.

Some of Our Favorite Collections from John Hardy

John Hardy’s take on the classic hoop earring, the iconic Bamboo hoop earrings, has got to be one of our most-cherished in the game. They’re simple while still being a welcome deviation from the norm. The bracelets to be found here in this collection are also must-have, especially when taking the Wear Bamboo, Plant Bamboo movement into account.

For a slightly more modern look, their Dot collection cannot be beaten. Daring geometry meets exotic design in every piece. Same goes for the Modern Chain series - each piece is sleeker and sexier than the one that came before.
